Israeli Dairy Experts Visiting Ohio to Foster CollaborationPublished on 06/17/2008
As part of their activities, the Israeli experts will visit Ohio State University campuses to meet with faculty of several departments and dairy extension personnel. They will present seminars about their extension work and Israel’s dairy industry at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center. The delegates also plan to tour a feed center and dairy farms throughout Ohio. Sponsored by the Negev Foundation and its Ohio-Israel Agricultural Initiative, the Ohio visit is part of a one-year program with the OSU Extension. The program brings Israeli agriculture experts to Ohio to present training workshops and seminars and sends Ohio extension and university personnel to Israel to be trained there. The Ohio-Israel Agricultural Initiative is dedicated to improving agricultural trade and R&D ties between Ohio and Israel by working with government, academic and business entities and growers in both regions. The objective of this Initiative is to foster greater collaboration between Ohio and Israeli government and research institutions, farmers and companies; develop joint R&D and educational activities; identify agribusiness ventures based on new technologies; introduce potential investors; and expand commercial ties and market access in both regions. | |
